Essential Coaching Skills is a sequel to Effective Coaching in the Workplace. 

Course Description

Coaching skills are in high-demand during  the current changing landscape of work. Every business leader and manager is expected to use coaching techniques to guide their workforce on the path of success. 

This interactive e-module discuss four practical coaching skills:

  • Module 1 - Powerful Listening
  • Module 2 - Asking Good Questions
  • Module 3 - Effective Mentoring
  • Module 4 - Providing Effective Feedback


Each module contains fun exercises and scenario-based examples. There will be key-points summary and a graded assessment comprising of 5 multiple-choice questions at the end of each module to test your understanding of the coaching concepts taught.

At the end of this module, learners will be able to:

  • Ask effective questions that bring positive results
  • Discuss effective mentoring as an approach to motivate
  • Explain effective feedback approaches

Course Curriculum

1 Powerful Listening

This module explores the three levels of listening and discusses techniques of listening.


2 Asking Good Questions
15 Min

This module explains why we should ask questions. It discusses the components of an effective question as well as distinguishes the different types of questions to ask in order to obtain positive results.


3 Effective Mentoring
15 Min

In this module, you will learn types of mentoring, the attributes of a mentor and mentoring with the aim to motivate.


4 Providing Effective Feedback
15 Min

This module discusses ways to give effective feedback in your workplace, such as being timely, recognising the individual, being specific, being sincere as well as preparing for a feedback session.
